I don’t know if blondes have more fun or not, but I will say that I have always felt most like myself as a blonde.  Over the years, I have definitely experimented with everything from dark brown to “ketchup” red hair*, but I always find myself returning to blonde. Perhaps it’s because I over identify with blonde jokes or because I had white blonde hair as a child, but I think I’ve been on the eternal journey to get back to it.

That being said, getting the right shade of blonde is no easy feat. Thankfully my wonderful friend, Sess, recommended, Clairol’s Shimmer Lights and since she is the epitome of a blonde bombshell, I had to take her up on it.  Despite the shampoos bright blue shade, it does an amazing job of keeping the “super brassy, yellow” shades at a minimum and in return makes your hair soft, silky and extra white blonde.  I’ve been hooked ever since I tried it!

I would definitely recommend it for any of you blondes out there!

* my apologies to any friends who had to live through those stages with me. Yikes!

ProductLove : Michael Kors’ Island Very Bali

Product Love

michael kors island

Hey girls! I don’t know about you, but I love good smells.  I find it hard to pass up something that smells yummy. I’m always stopping to smell the roses… literally.   I’ve been on the search for awhile for a new perfume and this weekend during my brief jaunt to the outlets (on my epic 8 hour return to DC from the beach) I stumbled upon something fun!

Michael Kors’ perfume “Island : Very Bali”

It’s sweet and fruity and most importantly reminds me of its namesake… the islands.  Don’t you love how a smell (particularly a good one) can transport you somewhere?  I close my eyes and smell this and I can see palm trees and hear the ocean waves.  Needless to say, it makes me smile.

Do you have a favorite scent?  Have you recently discovered a new perfume?  Do share!

ProductLove : Just Bitten

Product Love

Hey girlies! I thought I’d take a few moments and share one of my new favorite finds!  I like lipstick as much as the next girl but I find myself looking for something a bit easier and less “made-up” during the Summer months.  I was recently perusing the shelves at our local Target and I came across this fun little find.

revlon stain

Revlon’s “Just Bitten”  Lipstain + Balm.  It’s fun.  It’s easy and I am loving the results.  It gives you a burst of color that is a bit more natural than your regular lipstick and I’ve found it to be long-lasting.  The Revlon website lists the following EXPERT TIPS:

Step 1: Apply lip stain evenly to clean, bare lips and wait 30 seconds. Build color and coverage as desired.

Step 2: Follow with moisturizing lip balm. reapply as desired for knockout shine and moisture throughout the day

It’s like coloring with markers.  It brings back lots of fun memories of arts & crafts (also a few traumatic as I try to draw within the lines).   I’ve used both the “Victorian” and “Gothic” shades.  Love them both!

Here’s a few examples of the “Gothic” shade in real life.  Both Jess and I used it below and you can see how well it works with different colorings.

I’d totally recommend it!  Do you have a favorite Summer Lipstick/Lip stain?  Do share in the comments! I’d love to hear.
