WSP: Sunshine & Sisters

WSP Banner3

What a wonderful weekend! Which was proceeded by an equally wonderful week!  You see last weekend I “kidnapped” my little sister and brought her home with me.  She’s growing up so fast and I realized that for at least one week I wanted to slow the clock down and take time to just be with her.  It was truly the most fun I’ve had in a long time.  Part of our itinerary included a quick weekend trip down to visit our Grandma in Florida.  The beach time, sunshine and quality time with people I love was just what the doctor ordered.

This weekend was full of blue water… sparkly nails…novels that pull you in… seashell hunting… lizard chasing… inside jokes…family photos… the world’s fastest melting ice cream… thunderstorms… long chats… sunday comics… tea time…marathon Psych episodes…snuggles… tropical breezes…piano duets with Grandma… the Don Cesar… Puffy white clouds… and most of all LOVE.

I’m reminded again how incredibly blessed I am!  I hope your weekend was just as memorable!

WSP: Bike Rides & Blue Skies

Weekend Sneak Peek

It is officially my favorite time of year!  The weather hasn’t yet reached the oppressive humidity of Summer in DC and the skies are bright blue and breezy.  This weekend was gorgeous and because of that I tried to spend as much time outdoors as possible.  It was so relaxing and full of spontaneous fun… meeting new people… yummy food and conversation with friends… ranunculous (one of my favorite flowers)… Eastern Market and the best pretzels ever… new accessories (hello coral!)… a grocery store opening complete with ginormous spotlights (we do it up right on H St. NE)… thought provoking questions… Good Stuff Burgers…amazing worship and time to meet amazing worship leaders from a number of different churches in the DC area… decisions (I have decided!)…dressing Cinderella for the ball… and some much needed couch time.

Hope your weekend was just as yummy!

Salt & Sundry

This past weekend I discovered a new favorite place, Union Market.

I love the vibe.  It’s totally cool ( enough to make me feel cooler than I actually am, just by walking around). The produce is fresh.  The restaurants are fresher.Their is ice cream to die for. (try the Peanut Butter)

In the midst of this wonderland I stumbled upon a lovely little shop called “Salt & Sundry“.

Granted, I realize I may be late to this party but I’m hoping it’s fashionably late.  Just imagine me arriving with some fabulous hors deove’res hors durves… actually scratch that… just imagine me being able to spell hors d’oeuvres (thank you spell check) and arriving with glitter.  That’s probably more likely anyways. I can’t spell OR make whore durvs.

Ok… where was I?  Oh right… Salt & Sundry!  They are amazing! Such a fun store, chocked full of local yumminess, beautiful items that you can imagine were curated with much thoughtfulness and taste that again makes me feel that much cooler just by being in it’s presence.  Since I believe a picture is worth a thousand words (unless of course it’s your Senior Project paper.  Take my word for it, professors don’t always appreciate pictures and 20pt Comic Sans)  here’s a few shots I took during my recent visit.

I would definitely suggest you check it out for yourself!
