Full many a flower is born to blush unseen, and waste it’s fragrance on the desert air. – Jane Austen
#LocalLove might be a bit of a stretch because these gals are blowing up (no pun intended) all over the country, but I’m not mad about it. Awesomeness like this needs to take over the world. Who am I talking about? None other than the amazing genius of…
Drybar is the enchanted place where you can go to sip mimosas, watch chick flicks and have your hair magically transformed. It’s the stuff of dreams.
(pre-wedding no makeup! eek!)
When I arrived, the cheery, bright decor greeted me (white & gray with pops of sunny yellow) and I was offered a drink as I was ushered to a chair at the “bar”. Big TV screens played one of my favorite movies (27 Dresses… how apropos) as I surveyed the rows of perfectly packaged hair products lining the bar shelves. Their menu has blow outs ranging from the Mai-Tai to Southern Comfort and you can add in fun little extras like braids for a few additional dollars. Oh, and did I mention, it is all for just $45? The whole experience is truly dreamy.
Because the day of the wedding was super hot and humid, the ladies at the Drybar gave me a tighter curl and plenty of hairspray to keep everything in place. It was definitely called for and I felt like it lasted for the whole day. Not an easy feat in DC humidity.
How beautiful is the bride? I loved every minute of her day and it was made that much sweeter because it started out at Drybar. I would highly recommend that you check them out for yourself… maybe for a special event or, you know, a Thursday. You do you girl!
Social Print Studio aka the artist formerly known as Prinstagram is a new personal fave. I came across them when I was looking for a good way to print out a few of my favorite instas and display them on my wall as inspiration. (hello miami!)
I wasn’t really expecting anything too special, but from the moment I visited their site I was blown away by their sense of humor (yes! a brand with a sense of humor) and their awesome customer service. They made the whole process fun and easy. I’ve used them to print out regular prints (pictured below) as well as big poster prints and have been thrilled with the results on all accounts.
If you’ve been flexing your photography muscles on insta and want to show off your skillz to your non-social media savvy friends (maybe even rack up some IRL likes) then I’d definitely recommend you check out Social Print Studio.
