2013 has been an amazing year. As it draws to a close I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude for the goodness of God and all that He has walked me through this year. As with every year, it has had its ups and downs… its joyful and sad moments… its giggles and tears… but through it all, I can see the total faithfulness of a God who has promised to never leave or forsake me.
This year included… travel to LA, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Denmark, Germany, Moldova, Colombia, Guatemala, Florida, NYC (and some other fun places too!)…a million amazing memories with friends & family… wonderful new opportunities for Piccadilly… I officially “re-launched” this blog in 2013 and had the opportunity to “play” with so many amazing people and start some super fun series like #YouSparkle and #StyleLove… I paid off a credit card (and made some other financial improvements) with help from my #noshoppingchallenge… I had the huge honor to be a part of the BeautifulYou Conference 2013… I even got to sing a few songs by some of my favorite singers, Adele & Beyonce… I met new family members and made incredible new friends… truly an amazing year.
That being said, I think its easy to focus on just the highlights this time of year, but one thing I’ve realized this year is that the good stuff is in the details. The things that may never make it on the blog, Instagram or Facebook can truly impact your life in a small but consistent way each day. It’s the friendships that grow over time…the small, seemingly meaningless conversations… the stupid jokes that no one can remember… the day in and day out in the cubicle… the morning commutes…the endless meetings…the late night practices…the long car rides…the every day.
The beauty of life is discovered in the ordinary, everyday occurrences.
The truly life-changing moments happen in the small decisions each day. It’s in those moments that life gets good.
I’m determined more than ever in this new year to not gloss over the mundane details of daily life, but to take the time to enjoy them and recognize the beauty that they can bring!
Here’s to an even more beautiful 2014!
